Responsibilities:
• Review new business submissions (commercial and contract surety)
• Maintain existing underwriting files
• Liaise with brokers and contractors to ensure that our files are current and to develop new business opportunities
• Liaise with Head Office personnel on files that require Head Office approval and/or review
• Review individual bond requests
• Obtain a thorough understanding of the Surety underwriting process including the obligations under each of the major bond wordings used
• Other duties as assigned by Management
Requirements:
• Post-secondary business related education (Commerce, Business Administration, etc.) or professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA)
• Strong interpersonal skills
