Duties
This position is responsible for performing written, vision and road tests in order to determine a driver’s’ ability to operate various types of motor vehicles; inspecting motor vehicles prior to conducting the road test; conducting inspections of garages authorized to inspect motor vehicles under the Official Inspection Station Regulations; laying appropriate charges under The Highway Traffic Act and Regulations; attending court as required and performing other related duties. Qualifications

Candidates must have knowledge of driver examination. These qualifications would normally be acquired through graduation from high school, combined with training in driver instruction or examination. Experience in motor vehicle mechanical inspection and operation of various types of motor vehicles would be considered an asset. Equivalencies may be considered. The successful candidate will be required to produce a certificate of good conduct and must possess a valid driver’s licence with no suspensions in the past five years, excluding medical grounds.
