Job Renumeration:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This role operates within a home office environment.
• This role requires extensive travel.

Job Overview:

• The Mortgage Advisor reports to the Area Sales Leader.
• The Mortgage Advisor’s primary objective is to grow and cultivate a referral network that will generate a target of approximately $12,000,000 in bank mortgage production annually.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Achieve sales targets across all parameters of the business plan.
• Be available to meet clients at times that are convenient for them ( i.e in their home or at their office).
• Interview and take applications, obtain all pertinent personal and credit information, confirm employment, salary and source of down payment and submit application with recommendation for approval.
• Actively promote bank life insurance product.
• Meet and exceed minimum monthly mortgage sales targets.
• Establish reciprocal business relationships with real estate firms and other reputable business sources for the purpose of identifying suitable customer prospects for residential mortgage financing.
• Ensure service excellence.
• Develop business plan with Area Sales Leader.
• Developing and managing relationships with external referral partners.
• Work with internal partner referral sources.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

• Mortgage Insurers, Realtors, referral partners and industry associations

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• the incumbent must comply with all applicable bank and line of business policies, guidelines and controls.
• The incumbent will be personally responsible for compliance with all bank regulatory training and governance programs.

AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS

• Recommend cost containment and cost reduction strategies
• Response to customer/partner issues
• Recommendation on new initiative or partner opportunity

JOB PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES AND LOCATION:

Annual sales of $12M
Geographic coverage over an assigned territory

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Strong Prospecting Ability: Must be able to develop your own sources of mortgage referrals from a variety of sources (i.e. Realtors, Builders, Financial Services Companies, etc.).
• Demonstrated time management and planning skills with an ability to organize the day with activities that contribute to the overall goal of mortgage production.
• Proven track record of Mortgage Sales or other credit product with a sound understanding of the local market is highly desirable.
• In-depth experience in Real Estate Lending and knowledge of underwriting guidelines, highly desirable.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be extremely flexible and adaptable and love working in a fast-paced business environment with changing priorities.
• Previous experience working in a mortgage sales environment dealing with complex home financing.
