Job Setting: Grocery Business
The Pricing Analyst will coordinate, collect and analyze competitive retail prices and promotional flyers. This includes providing price indices to category teams and putting forth recommendations for pricing and promotional activity.
Key Business Functions, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
• Complete analysis and put forward suggestions to improve financial results, processes and business improvements
• Create and review pricing index reports and offer suggestions to maintain targets index levels
• Perform ad performance analysis (post mortem), both competitive and internal
• Coordinate with retail operation teams the distribution and collection of retail price checks
• Complete retail price checks in various markets
• Review pricing differences between banners and stores to highlight opportunities for Category Management teams
• Analyze competitor flyers to calculate level of investment and forecast sales
• Analyze AC Neilson reports and CIS reports and put forward suggestions and opportunities
• Communicate effectively with Category Managers and other employees
• Run price optimization scenarios and offer suggestions to category management to maximize sales and profitability, working with Category teams
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment as per company requirements
• Other duties as required
Technical skills
Required:
• Complete understanding of category management processes/procedures
• Standards, policies, guidelines, etc pertaining to strategies and guidelines
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Solid communication skills (both oral and written)
• Working knowledge of CMA, Health Check, & Product Performance
Educational and Working Experience
Required:
• Post secondary education (preferably in business)
• Self-starter
• 1 to 3 years as a category assistant
