Job Setting: Brewery
As Maintenance Planner you will be expected to lead and have an opinion from the day you join the team. You will need to be results oriented and demonstrate passion in the work you do, as well as be able to inspire those around you. You will be given challenges every day, so a disciplined approach for delivering great results is required.
Purpose of the Position:
Planning and preparation of work for execution is the primary role.
The planner screens work requests for appropriateness, understanding of work required, extent of planning required and converts to work orders. Work orders are then planned in relation to safety requirements, resources (trade types and number of trades) and tool requirements, material requirements, length of time to complete, equipment availability dates and documentation requirements.
Properly match the work required by trades to the resources available to create a weekly work plan/schedule for all Maintenance trades. When putting together the work plan consideration is given to equipment availability, workload priorities, and operational needs. Work in the backlog is reviewed against current priorities and added to the current work schedules as appropriate.
The role of the planner in the preparation of preventative and predictive maintenance is to ensure that the correct maintenance is identified, planned, quantified and scheduled to be assigned to the trades.
Planner is responsible for planning major overhauls, being a liaison with Operations to review work order priorities, utilize CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems) and other tools to provide Maintenance Performance KPI data and to keep maintenance records such as equipment maintenance histories updated.
Education: mechanical/electrical trade background is preferred. An Engineering background will be considered.
Experience: 3-5yrs experience in Maintenance planning or mechanical/electrical trade in an industrial environment preferred. Strong practical technical background will be considered.
Technical Competencies:
- Understanding the basics of industrial electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally throughout the operation. Ability to meet deadlines in a highly energized environment
- High attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.
Systems Experience:
Excellent computer skills and use of a CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems) Avantis and SAP would be considered an asset.
Accountabilities:
- Helps to set Maintenance targets for Brewery and monitors performance.
- Develops Maintenance strategies that are aligned to Global standards and requirements.
- Identifies Best Practices and responsible to roll-out to other breweries. Develops, prepares and maintains
- Maintenance standards, technical documents, policies and procedures for North America.
