Job Setting: City Library
Job Summary: Seeking a librarian with a MLIS or MLS from an ALA-accredited program to join a dynamic team. Will be providing general and business reference services in an extremely busy library serving a diverse clientele in downtown Pittsburgh.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Working public service desks;
• Answering reference and readers’ advisory questions in person and over the phone using both print and electronic resources;
• Assisting customers on computers;
• Collection maintenance.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Knowledgeable with emerging technologies such as e-readers, Microsoft Office, social media and other web-based applications;
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, strong commitment to teamwork, flexibility, positive attitude, exemplary customer service skills and genuine interest in people;
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
• Experience with general and business databases is a plus;
• MLIS or MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program.

Reference & Instructional Librarian (Adjunct Faculty).
Job Setting: College Library
Desired qualifications include:
Familiarity with basic library and circulation desk functions.
Ability to conduct effective reference interviews with students, faculty, and the community.
Experience in providing information competency instruction.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s in library science, or library and information science, OR the equivalent.
Sensitive to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college personnel and students and the communities served by the College.
